Billion Steps Foundation works in several villages in over 5 States of India and Urban Slums in the National Capital Region of Delhi. We involve children and young adults in educational and skills programs through centers based within the community and work with their parents and communities to strengthen their capacity in child care, protection and development. The presence of the centers within the villages and slum communities ensure not only children's developmental rights but also their safety and protection from abuse, exploitation and family separation. This is what we call protecting children indigenously.
